I think you all know where we stand in politics these days—God, family, and freedom, if you didn’t know.
Regardless of your political views, please consider the potential impact of Amendment 3 before casting your vote the next couple of weeks.
The memo below was just posted from the City of Sebastian, but it is a reflections of what every municipality is facing if this bill is passed this Nov.
While it could provide a small property tax savings for homeowners, the resulting reduction in local government revenue could also affect funding for construction and infrastructure projects. For those of us working in the municipal sector, that could mean fewer projects, less work, and potential job losses.
The effects could extend beyond construction. Cities and counties could also face difficult budget decisions involving fire protection, law enforcement, and community programs.
