With Halloween weekend here, a few reminders before you plug everything in: keep extension cords away from foot traffic, don't daisy-chain multiple power strips, and unplug decorations you're not using. A little caution goes a long way on the busiest outlet night of the year. Have a safe Halloween from Coharbor Electric.

Upgrading your panel is the perfect time to add whole-home surge protection — both projects involve the same point of entry, so pairing them saves a second visit and gives your entire system better protection going forward. Ask our professional electricians whether bundling makes sense for your home.

Clocks fall back this Sunday, November 1 — and it's the easiest reminder there is to check your smoke detector batteries. If it's been more than a year, replace them regardless of whether the low-battery chirp has started. It only takes a few minutes and it's one of the simplest ways to keep your home safe.
