ATTENTION: Fort Myers Shores, Olga and Alva residents impacted by the recent Hurricanes Helene and Milton. The Lee County Permitting Office is setting a remote location @ the Olga Community Center on S. Olga Drive on November 16th 9 am to 3 pm for help applying for remediation permits to repair flooded homes.
Please make sure to get the proper permitting to save yourself a lot of headaches.
Our area is having issues with FEMA regulations because of all of the homes flooded in Ian and residents not completing the permitting process.

Please be prepared and check on your neighbors. We will be closed on Wednesday to let everyone be with their families. For all the new families that have moved here since October of 2022, please be prepared. The homes by the river and canals flooded up to 4 ft inside the homes and flooded numerous cars with Hurricane Ian. Praying this hurricane changes course and doesn’t cause the surge they are predicting. Hurricane Helene caused more flooding a couple weeks ago and wasn’t near the magnitude that is projected with Milton. After 4 today if you want to move your vehicles to higher ground you are more than welcome to park on our vacant property next to the office. Please be mindful of Adam Hansen’s Pumpkin Patch that is using the property also. We will not be responsible for any damages. Please locks your vehicle and remove any valuables. We ask not to block the gate so we can get to our work vehicles when the Hurricane has gone through.
