At Titan Plumbing, we're proud to recognize team members who demonstrate dedication, growth, and a commitment to excellence. Today, we're shining the spotlight on David Sorton, who joined the plumbing trade straight out of high school and has already accomplished an impressive amount in just his first year.
Over the past 12 months, David has built a strong foundation of skills that are helping him become a well-rounded plumber. Ironically, David finished up high school and went straight to work building a school where he has spent much of the last year. Over the past year David’s accomplishments include:
🔧 Installing a wide variety of plumbing fixtures, including drinking fountains, flush valve toilets, urinals, and water heaters.
📐 Reading blueprints and laying out basic bathroom groups for both underground and above-floor rough-in installations.
📋 Reading and interpreting cut sheets to ensure accurate product installation and compliance.
🔥 Developing skills in both soldering and brazing.
📚 A growing knowledge of plumbing and ADA codes with an understanding of how they apply to plumbing systems.
🚧 Earning certifications to operate aerial lifts, skid steers, and excavators.
✅ Obtained OSHA 10 certification, demonstrating a commitment to jobsite safety and professional development.
🎓 Recently joined the local plumbing apprenticeship program, taking the next step in his professional development and commitment to mastering the trade.
🛠️ And, as all apprentices do in their rite of passage, David has also mastered the art of the shovel, wheelbarrow, and chipping hammer—skills every successful tradesperson knows are just as important as the tools in the plumbing truck.
David's growth in just one year is a testament to his work ethic, willingness to learn, and positive attitude. He represents the next generation of skilled trade professionals and shows what can be accomplished through hard work and determination.
We're proud to have David on our team and look forward to watching his continued growth and success in the plumbing industry. Keep up the great work, David!
