PROPERTY MANAGER EMBEZZLES THOUSANDS FROM MARTIN COUNTY HOA’s FOR LAVISH TRIPS, PLASTIC SURGERY

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division has issued a warrant for 46-year old Alexandra Delacaridad Gonzalez, a property management bookkeeper accused of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from local homeowners associations.

Gonzalez, who was employed by the local
Company, Avant-Garde Property Management as a property manager, has warrants for:
• Two counts of fraud exceeding $50,000
• Two counts of grand theft
• Sixty-one counts of uttering false instruments
• Fifty-nine counts of embezzlement

Her total bond has been set at $1,350,000.

Investigators say that over an extended period of time, Gonzalez wrote checks to herself from HOA accounts that she managed and concealed the thefts by creating fictitious invoices and false ledger entries. She also allegedly forged the signatures of authorized account holders. Subpoenaed records revealed the stolen funds were used for personal expenses, including shopping, plastic surgery, and vacations.

The suspected fraud was identified by the HOA’s and reported to the Sheriff’s Office. Identified victims at this time include:
• Whitemarsh Reserve Homeowners Association
• The Dunes of Hutchinson Island

We believe Gonzalez may currently be in the Miramar or Vero Beach area.
