When a contractor or salesman of any type comes to do an estimate for you under the name of a certain company and offers you another option to get it done sooner or at a lesser cost by pulling your own permit or buying your own materials,that should be an immediate red flag that something is wrong.
In the state of Florida it is illegal to represent yourself as a licensed contractor if you are not one.
As a homeowner or business owner you automatically place yourself in a compromising position legally by taking that option. Always verify with the company office once your estimate is done.
