RATS!
The initial call for this inspection was for a raccoon problem, but it didn’t take long to realize there was more than one kind of animal living in this crawlspace! Raccoons are straightforward, rats can be tricky!
We start with a bait pile. Rats can be cautious, so step one is to get them used to the bait we use in our traps. In addition to this, we have 7 trap stations around and under the home with the same bait and the snap traps zip tied OPEN. After a week or two and multiple visits adding more bait, the zip ties come off the traps.

MICE!
This house has what we call the trifecta! MICE, BATS, and SQUIRRELS! Not to mention spiders too…

CHIPMUNK!
This is one of many places we squirrels and chipmunks entering homes. This little guy was quick!

SQUIRRELS!
Typically we average 3-4 red squirrels on a removal job. This customer had 12 living in the walls!

MUSKRATS!
Not every muskrat hole still has muskrats in it. Looks like the catfish took over this burrow!

BIRDS!
What a mess! Starlings and sparrows love to nest in bathroom and dryer exhaust vents. On this home, we cleaned out the nesting material, replaced the damaged duct and added premium bird-proof vent covers!

RACCOONS!
Nothing quite like getting a surprise like this in an attic. Time to find a new home Mr. Raccoon!

BATS!
The customer counted 66 bats flying from the house! Definitely a maternal colony in this attic. We will give this job a couple of months before doing any exclusion work to give the little bat “pups” time to learn how to fly before sealing up the outside of the home and putting up a temporary one-way door. We like bats, we just don’t like them in our space!

BATS!
We have had no shortage of bat inspections this spring, this was another case of a long-time bat infestation.
It’s always a bit of a game to count how many bats we can spot in an attic!
