Last week, we were proud to celebrate National Engineers Week by giving back to the next generation of problem-solvers.

Two of our team members visited a 5th grade classroom at Hickory Center Elementary to share what civil engineering is all about—how roads, bridges, and infrastructure shape the communities we live in every day. From big ideas to real-world impact, it was inspiring to see students’ curiosity and excitement for the field.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to spark interest in engineering and show young minds that they can help build the future.

Engineering Resources is honored to serve as a title sponsor of Purdue University Fort Wayne’s E Week Model Bridge Building Contest, an event that brings creativity, problem solving, and hands on engineering to life for local students.

From meticulously designed model bridges made entirely from popsicle sticks and wood glue to live, in-person load testing, the competition showcased innovation, teamwork, and the excitement of engineering in action—making the results even more impressive.

After testing over 40 bridge entries in each contest, this year’s winning designs for the high school and middle school contests were remarkable, holding over 1,250 and 1,100lbs, respectively. Prizes are awarded based on efficiency; with scores determined by how much weight a bridge can support relative to its own weight—rewarding smart design, material efficiency, and structural performance.

Thank you to PFW ETCS and all the students, educators, and volunteers who made this event such a success. Supporting STEM education and investing in our community’s future is something we’re proud to build—together.

Today marks a proud moment in Warsaw, Indiana, as the Parkview ONE Surgery Center officially opens its doors! This state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center is a collaboration between Parkview Health and Ortho NorthEast (ONE), bringing advanced orthopedic care to the heart of Kosciusko County.
Engineering Resources, Inc. was honored to provide civil engineering services for this transformative project, helping lay the groundwork—literally—for a facility designed to deliver exceptional outpatient surgical care.
