Heads up I’ve started getting calls and seeing evidence of Armyworms

If anyone is seeing signs of Armyworms please feel free to message me and I can help you not only take care of the ones you could have in your lawn today but also provide residual control for up to 3-4 months. Given how early they came this year we can expect generations of armyworms this year. Armyworms work fast at devastating lawns quickly if not treated properly. As an added bonus this treatment will also help take care of most other lawn pests as well (ants, spiders, crickets, fleas etc)

With this high heat we are experiencing now in DFW it’s very important that you measure zone per zone how much water you’re outputting and do the math to ensure you’re laying down 1”-1.5” per week

However if you don’t have time to do that run your sprinklers at minimum 2x a day twice a week (soaker zones for 15-20 minutes, pop ups for 15-20 minutes, rotary zones for 20-30 minutes) adjust accordingly. I really recommend measuring and doing it properly tho

I’m starting to take appointments for lawn leveling and top dressing services for the lawn this year now that we are ending our rainy wet season soon. This will include aeration and laying down a mix of sand, manure, biochar and mycorrhizae into the lawn to help amend your soil and enrich it. This will especially help new build lawns because they are severely lacking in organic material If interested let me know and I’ll measure your lawn and give you a quote. Price is 100% dependent on lawn size but I will say the minimum for top dressing is $450 and Leveling is $700. I would strongly recommend at the bare minimum to think about top dressing because the lack of any organic material in majority of lawns is so so bad

Due to all the rain we have had recently as well as all the forecasted rain in the coming days I strongly recommend all of my St Augustine and Zoysia customers be proactive and get fungus disease control down on their lawns asap. If you choose to buy products from the big box stores make sure to follow the label like law. Otherwise give me a call and I can quote you on a treatment.

For anyone who hasn’t upgraded their sprinkler units to an easy WiFi controller with an app for your phone I really recommend taking a look at this great deal on Costco online. This is about the cheapest I have ever seen this go for. It has great features like seasonal shift and cycle and soak. But more so it’s super easy to use with the app on the phone.

For the next 5 hours Home Depot has a great deal on Rachio sprinkler controllers. I really recommend this unit as an upgrade to your non WiFi controlled old unit. Makes watering and setting up schedules so much easier than trying to figure out the old units way of doing things.

Check out your local Costco they have the Rachio 3 with 12 zones on sale for $159. This has been one of the best upgrades to my sprinkler system and I recommend a Wi-Fi capable controller to all my clients. Makes watering so much easier and hassle free.
