Landmark Structures

Landmark Structures Founded in 1974 in Canada, and in 1985 in the U.S. We have now added spheroid elevated tanks for lower capacity applications.

As a specialty engineering and contracting company, Landmark is recognized as an industry leader in the design, construction, and maintenance of storage tanks for the industrial, military, and municipal sectors. as a specialty engineering and contracting company, Landmark works throughout North America, with principal offices in Dallas/Fort Worth, Toronto, and Chicago. We are committed to growth t

hrough leveraging our core competencies in planning, engineering and construction excellence, cooperative project execution, and client service with expansion into new markets involving water, energy and the environment. Landmark Structures transformed water storage with the introduction of the composite elevated tank, combining a reinforced concrete pedestal and welded steel tank. In a span of less than 20 years, this development propelled us from innovator to market leader, with the composite elevated tank rising to become the established industry standard for large capacity storage of up to 3.5 million gallons.

The Grand Prairie Robinson Road Elevated Storage Tank has won a Dallas Section Award from the Illuminating Engineering Society - and it's now headed to national judging.

The logo lighting design, led by Freese and Nichols, brought a level of artistry to this project that caught the attention of judges and the community alike.

Congratulations to the full project team, and fingers crossed for the next round!

Is your elevated water tank designed to support your community through extreme weather conditions?

On May 3, 1999, an F-3 tornado tore through Stroud, Oklahoma with winds up to 200 mph. The Tanger Outlet Mall along with homes, businesses, and the local hospital were damaged or destroyed.

The Composite Elevated Tank (CET), designed to be a highly robust structural system, survived and over 25 years later is still standing.

Structural resilience is just the beginning. Gravity-fed pressure reduces water hammer incidents, cuts pumping and maintenance expenses, and ensures communities stay supplied through power outages, extreme weather, and cyber threats.

Quality assurance in elevated tank construction doesn't start at the job site. It starts at the steel mill.

At Landmark, every plate is barcoded and traceable from the mill to its final placement on the tank.

Plates are shop-blasted and primed before leaving our facility, mitigating corrosion during transit and reducing surface prep time in the field.

Our in-house plasma cutting and contour beveling systems reduce weld seams in the finished product, which directly improves coating quality and extends tank life.

And because our engineering and fabrication teams are integrated under one roof, the gaps that come with subcontracted work simply don't exist here.

Have questions about our fabrication capabilities? Let's connect.

The difference between a concrete pedestal that looks "engineered" and one that looks "poured" comes down to process.

Pour lines. Color variation. Shade inconsistency. These aren't cosmetic accidents, they're the result of placement techniques that weren't controlled tightly enough. On an elevated tank pedestal, where every square foot is visible to the community for decades, that matters.

Architectural concrete placement eliminates these issues through precise sequencing, controlled lift heights, consistent vibration, and careful timing between pours. The goal is a uniform, monolithic finish with no visible cold joints or tonal shifts, even as temperature, humidity, and wind conditions change throughout the day.

In our Elevated Engineering series, we break down exactly how this process works.

No address. No roads. No utilities. No cell service.

That's what Landmark's team walked into when construction began on Florida's first-ever Composite Elevated Tank (CET) in the City of Crestview.

The tank provides essential water storage for a planned school site and support the community's future growth. But getting it built meant solving a different kind of challenge at every turn.

▪️ Florida's summer heat pushed the team to rotate crews, increase hydration breaks, and restructure schedules around safety.

▪️ Welding in a heavily wooded area required coordinating with City officials and the local Fire Department to establish a reliable hydrant source.

▪️ Concrete suppliers adjusted mixes for extended workability to account for hour-long delivery times.

▪️ And with no cell coverage on site, a Starlink unit kept communications running.

The result? A completed CET that proves what's possible when preparation meets persistence.

Proud to deliver this milestone for the City of Crestview and the community it will serve for decades to come.

Safety isn't just a protocol — it's the foundation of everything we build.

Today, on World Day for Safety and Health at Work, Landmark is proud to reaffirm our commitment to the well-being of our people and partners.

We recognize that a safe and healthy working environment is a fundamental right. That's why our approach goes beyond simply checking the compliance box. We are dedicated to proactively engineering solutions that protect both the physical and mental health of everyone involved in our projects, on and off the site.

By integrating safety into the very core of our design process, we anticipate and mitigate challenges before they become risks. At Landmark, we don't just construct buildings; we engineer environments where safety is built into the blueprint.

Thank you to our incredible team for making safety a priority every single day. Let's continue to build a safer tomorrow, together.

Happy Earth Day. 🌍

Elevated water tanks don't get much attention in sustainability conversations, but they probably should.

Every time water flows from an elevated tank, it's gravity doing the work. No pump running around the clock. No unnecessary energy draw. Just stored water, distributed efficiently to the communities that need it.

They also buffer demand, storing water during off-peak hours and releasing it when it's needed most, which means less strain on treatment and distribution systems overall.

The Austin, TX water reclamation elevated tank takes it one step further, incorporating:

▪️ 48 separate 175-watt photovoltaic panels that generate more than 16,500 kWh of electricity annually.

▪️ Rainwater collection drains that capture more than 140,000 gallons per year.

Happy Earth Day from the hashtag team.

April 13, 2026 is officially Fabrication Day in Decatur, Texas.

We're honored to share that the City of Decatur recognized Landmark Fabrication as their Business of the Month for April 2026.

Mayor Mike McQuiston read the proclamation at Monday's City Council meeting and declared April 13 as Landmark Fabrication Day in Decatur going forward.

The Decatur Business of the Month program highlights companies that model excellence in their field and contribute to a healthy, thriving community. Being named alongside that mission means a great deal to our team.

We're proud to call Decatur home. Thank you to the City Council, Mayor McQuiston, and everyone who makes this community a place worth building in.

300+ Luminodes. 180+ projects.

From harsh northern winters to extreme southwestern heat, our teams depend on reliable cloud-based temperature and maturity data to make informed decisions, not guesses.

Each Luminode placement provides real-time in-situ data that supports our rigorous quality standards and keeps projects on schedule.
The construction industry talks about innovation. We've chosen to execute one cubic yard at a time.

Proud to partner with Brickeye on technology that supports who we are and how we build.

When a mass continuous concrete placement on a confined urban site next to a school isn’t an option - you engineer a better way.

We recently completed the foundation for the 2.5 MG Arlington Composite Elevated Tank (CET), a 6-foot thick mass concrete placement, 95 ft in diameter, requiring ~1,200 CY of concrete and 65+ tons of reinforcement.

The site conditions made a conventional single-day pour impossible.

The Solution: A Full-Length, Full-Height Bulkhead. Our team internally engineered a full-length, full-height bulkhead, an approach unique to
Landmark, which split the foundation into two 600-CY placements over two days. This was developed in-house to solve a problem that a standard approach couldn't.

The results:
▪️ Required half as many concrete trucks jammed into a confined space
▪️ Two focused 5-hour placements instead of one unmanageable marathon
▪️ Minimized disruption to a neighboring school and the surrounding community
▪️ More efficient crew deployment across both sessions

Landmark's value is in solving the problems that don't appear on the plans.

Planning for a complex project? Let’s talk constructability.
