We here at Bow & Arrow are so sorry for the losses… and beyond grateful for their ultimate sacrifice.🇺🇸
AmDef would like to wish everyone a safe Memorial Day. We would also like to extend some unsolicited advice for everyone this holiday weekend. When you see a veteran this weekend, and you will, please don't tell them "Happy Memorial Day". By its very name it is not a happy day for anyone. Please don't thank a veteran for their service because of Memorial Day, as that is reserved for Veterans Day.
Memorial Day is an opportunity to reflect on the sacrifice and heroism performed by members of our military since 1776. There will be many veterans that are going to be having a very difficult weekend dealing with the loss of brothers and sisters in uniform. The perception of a lack of understanding by supporters of veterans of what Memorial Day represents compounds the difficulties. While we understand you mean no malice or ill intent by the gesture please refrain. If you'd like to address a veteran simply tell them, "we are sorry for your loss". If the veteran didn't have one personally they may tell you that. It's much more likely the veteran did lose someone and they are on their mind this weekend more than normal. This weekend is a chance to celebrate fallen brothers/sisters, grieve, and heal.
This is not meant to be offensive to anyone or tell you what to do. It is for information purposes only but we do hope it helps. To all who might see this, America's Defenders Foundation is sorry for your loss. Know you are not alone in your reflection and grief. Please be safe as you celebrate the life and sacrifice of your brother or sister this weekend.
