🎃 IT'S SPOOKY WHEN A TANK CAN'T BREATHE!

There are plenty of scary things this Halloween, but a steel storage tank collapsing under vacuum pressure shouldn't be one of them!

It doesn't take much of a pressure difference to cause serious damage to a large steel storage tank.

During pump-out or other operating conditions, inadequate venting can create a vacuum strong enough to buckle the shell and compromise the tank's structural integrity.

A blocked, damaged, or improperly sized vent can turn a routine operation into a costly nightmare.

Proper Venting. Routine Inspections. Preventive Maintenance.

Small details can prevent some pretty frightening consequences.

It's been a great couple of days connecting with industry professionals, catching up with familiar faces, meeting new ones, and discussing the future of our industry.

A LOT TO BE THANKFUL FOR.

Another sunrise at Tank Builders Inc. and another opportunity to do what we love.

Since 1972, we've been blessed with hardworking employees, loyal customers, lasting relationships, and the opportunity to build something that makes a difference.

As the sun rises over our shop and yard, we're reminded that none of this happens without the people who make it possible and the opportunities God continues to provide.

We're thankful for where we've been, grateful for where we are, and looking forward to what's ahead.

WHAT’S UNDER YOUR TANK?

When you look at a finished API 650 tank, the shell is what gets your attention. But long before the shell goes up, some of the most important work is happening on the bottom.

Proper plate layout, fit-up, welding, and inspection all play a role in creating a tank floor designed to perform for years to come.

And once that tank is completed and placed into service, much of that work is no longer easy to see or access.

That’s why quality has to start before the first shell plate ever goes up.

Foundation Construction. Strength Starts From the Ground Up.

A strong tank starts with a strong foundation. A concrete ring wall foundation provides an effective combination of structural support, stability, and long-term serviceability.

When a tank is full, some of the greatest loads are concentrated around the perimeter where the steel shell meets the bottom. A properly engineered ring wall provides continuous support beneath that shell and helps transfer those loads into the supporting soil.

Better load distribution and better drainage equals a stable foundation for years to come.
