⚠️ DFW HOMEOWNERS — JUNE 1, 2025 HAIL STORM DEADLINE APPROACHING ⚠️

If your home was affected by the June 1st hail storm last year, time may be running out.

Areas including Weatherford, Arlington, and surrounding communities saw severe hail — with reports of up to 3.5–4" hail west of Fort Worth and around 2.5" hail in Arlington areas. Many roofs, gutters, windows, fences, and exterior surfaces were damaged.

Most homeowners insurance policies have a limited window to report storm damage — and for many people, that deadline may be approaching NEXT MONDAY (June 1st).

I'd like to take a moment to brag on one of our recent projects. We recently finished up a massive exterior transformation for one of our customers in Dallas, with more to come soon.

Swipe through to the end of the photo reel, and you'll see how the old siding was degraded, worn, and needed AT MINIMUM a lot of TLC & a fresh coat of paint.

What's more, though, is that behind the sections that we worked on, there was little to no insulation, which was causing drafts all throughout the house and giving the homeowner a sensation that the walls were incredibly thin.

We handled every aspect of this project cleanly and smoothly: we demo'd manageable sections at a time to work around turbulent weather forecasts, cleaned as we went, installed fresh sound-dampening wool-based insulation, avoided unnecessary cuts to the material, and trimmed everything in perfectly to give it a seamless, premium appearance. Then, we finished it all off with a brand new coat of paint - not only to make it look good, but to make it last as long as possible and prevent any future headaches for the customer.

We're not done at their house yet - we're still working with their insurance to make sure the roof is paid for fairly after April's catastrophic storms. I'll be sure to post an update after the entire home's exterior has been made over!

Oftentimes, hail damage isn’t obvious from the ground.

But up close? It looks like this.

The dark spots marked in blue are impact points where hail has knocked granules off the shingles and left the asphalt underneath torn and bruised. Once the protective granules are gone, the shingles start wearing out faster from sun exposure and weather.

After a hailstorm, a lot of homeowners assume everything is fine simply because they don’t see water stains yet, but a roof can have severe storm damage long before it ever starts leaking inside the house.

We just saw ~2” hail in Azle (see photos) and the storm is tracking EAST through Fort Worth, especially north of I-20, pushing toward Saginaw, Lake Worth, North Fort Worth, Keller, and up toward Denton.

If you’re in the path, take this seriously:
• Get vehicles under cover ASAP
• Stay inside and away from windows

🚨 Here's a common (and dangerous) roof mistake I see all the time 🚨

This home had a dryer vent covered with the wrong type of roof cap - and it was already starting to cause issues.

Can you spot the issue?

This style of vent has a screen inside it, which might seem like a good idea... but not for a dryer vent.

Over time, that screen catches lint. Lint builds up, airflow gets restricted, and now you've got a fire hazard and moisture problem sitting on your roof.

When I opened it up, you can see how much lint had already started collecting.

✅️ What I did:

1. Removed the incorrect vent cap

2. Installed a proper dryer exhaust vent (no screen, built for lint)

3. Reflashed and sealed everything correctly

Now it's venting the way it's supposed to - safe and efficient.

💡 Quick tip:

If your dryer vents through the roof, it should never have a screen on it. This is one of the most common issues I come across.

Yeah… not a fan.

They crack, dry out, and fail way faster than most homeowners expect—especially here in the Texas heat.

This one’s severely broken down, and has already caused a small leak.

👉 If you’ve got these on your roof, they need to be checked regularly.
👉 When they fail, they usually fail quietly, and can leak slowly for months until it becomes noticeable.
