Not every paving project starts with asphalt.

Project update for our Six Flags Over Texas project. The area we're paving was previously used as a staging and material storage area during the construction of the new Tormenta Rampaging Run roller coaster. After months of heavy equipment and construction activity, the soil underneath was left soft and unstable.

Before we can pave, we have to build a solid foundation.

That's where lime stabilization comes in. By mixing lime into the existing soil, we're able to dry out the material and improve its strength and stability. Once the lime has time to react with the clay soils common throughout North Texas, the ground becomes a much stronger base that can support the new parking lot for years to come.

It's one of those critical steps most people never see, but it's what helps create a long lasting pavement structure from the ground up.

We are honored and excited to be at Six Flags Over Texas working on a project that's just as exciting as it is unique.

Our team is working on a new parking lot area in front of Tormenta Rampaging Run, the park's new record breaking giga dive coaster. Located in the Spain section of the park and themed after the Running of the Bulls, this massive ride stands 309 feet tall, features a 95 degree drop, reaches speeds of 87 mph, and is set to break six world records. It's been incredible watching this project come to life up close.

This video shows the first phase of the project: milling. Before new asphalt can be installed, the existing surface is removed using specialized milling equipment. This process helps create the proper grade and foundation for the new pavement, setting the stage for a smooth, durable parking lot that will serve Six Flags guests for years to come.

Our crews have completed the parking lot patching phase and are preparing for the next major steps in this full parking lot restoration project.

One of the primary goals of this project has been keeping the facility fully operational throughout construction. Through careful planning and phased scheduling, we've been able to minimize disruption while maintaining access for customers, employees, and daily business operations.

As the project moves into its final stages, we're excited to see the transformation take shape. The upcoming sealcoating and striping work will provide a clean, professional appearance while helping extend the life and performance of the pavement.

We have officially started work on a new Circle K development at I-45 and Pleasant Run Road in Wilmer, TX.
