Owner Tim Bates here, back from my annual pilgrimage into the wilderness with my dear friends. This year we hiked a 35 mile section of the Appalachian trail in Eastern Tennessee. It is a few days to completely unplug, be with great friends, and enjoy everything that God has to offer. This particular trip was a snapshot of what life can be like. We planned a hike months in advance and then found out a few weeks before the trip based on a review that 75% of the trail was closed due to a storm that swept through. We pivoted from a trip that was going to have 5,000 feet of elevation gain to one that had over 7,000 feet. Father time has definitely caught up with us and it was a lot more challenging than we anticipated. In addition, we got rained on the first night so most of our stuff was wet the entire trip. Water sources were few and far between. Blisters were abundant. Food supplies were close to running out.  
 
Yet, despite the setbacks, we got to experience God through His creation in vivid ways that we never could in Fort Worth, TX (I still love you FW)! Struggles, frustrations, disappointment…then amazement. It is much like the world we live in. It is so easy to focus on the negatives and miss the wonders that are in front of us every day! I was encouraged to see the great things that ARE happening and not to dwell on the things I WANT to happen. 🏕️

Today we all went to lunch to celebrate Adele Rains. She’s taking a job elsewhere and will be missed every day. For the last 5 years, you’ve brightened every room you’ve walked into. We’ve watched you grow as a person and as a professional…from cutting a cake with the knife cover still on in your first week to being able to walk a client through the design/build process from start to finish with meticulous care, you have become a true professional. We thank you for the tireless hours you’ve spent taking care of clients, getting estimates done, working with vendors, putting out fires, whatever needed to be done, you did it…with a great attitude. You truly are one of a kind and will be missed dearly. We wish you the best and know that God will do great things through you.
