From student to entrepreneur, Joel DeCarli '24 is already making his mark.

Joel came to Marywood for its aviation program, but as his goals evolved, so did his path. Graduating with a degree in Business Management, he discovered that Marywood's personalized learning environment, supportive faculty, and close-knit community gave him the confidence to pursue entrepreneurship and build a future on his own terms.

His journey is a great reminder that sometimes the path you start on leads to opportunities you never expected.

Some Mondays start with coffee. Our Project Engineer Joel DeCarli's Monday started with his dog Fin hopping into the truck and making sure the hard hat and cooler were ready for the day.

No plans were reviewed. No meetings were scheduled. But the cooler received a very thorough inspection.

Collaboration is key to every successful project, and this intern exchange with BDA Architects was a great example of that in action. Our interns gained firsthand exposure to the design process, while BDA's interns experienced the construction side of project delivery. Thank you to BDA for being a great partner in providing this valuable learning opportunity for the next generation of industry professionals.

Celebrating 35 Years with Sordoni! 🎉

Today we’re excited to celebrate Maria’s 35-year anniversary with Sordoni!

Maria joined the company as an Accountant and has grown into our Director of Human Resources, making a lasting impact on our people and culture along the way. Her commitment, leadership, and genuine care for others have helped shape Sordoni into the workplace it is today.

When reflecting on her journey, Maria shared how much the relationships and connections she’s built over the years mean to her—and it’s easy to see why. She’s made a difference in so many lives.

Kicking off summer the best way we know how — together!

We fired up the grill for a team cookout featuring hotdogs with all the fixings, plenty of chips, and a sweet finish with ice cream. There’s nothing better than good food, sunshine, and great company to bring everyone together. Grateful for a team that works hard and knows how to have a little fun!

That’s a wrap on Day of Caring!

What an incredible day giving back alongside the United Way of Wyoming Valley! From lending a hand at 🐾 Blue Chip Animal Rescue, to rolling up our sleeves at 👗 Dress for Success, to getting outdoors at 🌲 YMCA Camp Kresge—our team showed up, worked hard, and made a real impact across the community.

We’re so proud of everyone who volunteered their time, energy, and heart today. It’s days like this that remind us how powerful teamwork and community can be.
