Good morning, it's that time of year.... changing the clocks back and a perfect time to test and replace the batteries in your Smoke and CO Detectors!! Maybe even those of you with portable generators to give them run too.....

It’s that time of the season again... spring ahead 1hour. It’s a great time to think about changing that 9volt battery for backup in your smoke/co detectors in our homes. As for the storms and power loss of late and everyone running generators for emergency power there is still a lot to think about. Be sure “not” to run your portable generator inside your home or garages during these power outages!! It’s not safe to do. They need to be outside for the proper air circulation. Most have generators nowadays and think it’s ok to backfeed their dryer outlet and or range outlets to supply power in emergency situations, but forget to shut off their main service breaker. Potential hazard there being Your sending power to the street where our Lineman or Workman are trying to repair the line side damages. Your now putting them in danger. There are the proper interlocks or transfer switches which should be used to provide safety to both sides of the power lines!! Please take the time to think about all this and continue to be safe during these potential hazards!!

Well that was a pretty intense storm this morning!! Many are still without power. Remember we're rolling into hurricane season. If anyone has questions about generators for back up systems, I would be more than glad to help out with designing or installing a safe system. I'm discovering more and more unsafe conditions out in the field. Please remember there is a lineman working to restore your power out there. Let's keep them safe along with your homes while their working too.

Good morning, for those of you who have been replacing light bulbs in your recess cans in commercial or residential applications. I've been installing LED trim kits which are dimmable with the proper dimmer of course. The best part to this is the energy you save along with a rebate you can receive!! If your interested in more you just have to ask???
