This is one for the books. 😬 This snake wrapped itself around the shaft of the fan motor on an outdoor AC condenser. I think it's safe to say it was stretched beyond measure. Thankfully all it did was overheat and trip the breaker (the unit, not the snake. Lol)

Wintertime tip:
Shutting your heat registers in unused rooms does NOT save money on your utility bill. It actually overtaxes your furnace by restricting the airflow.
And don't forget to change your furnace filters regularly especially if you have pets.

Friendly reminders to keep your plumbing running smoothly:
Flush toilet paper ONLY.
You know those packages of Flushable Wipes? Trust us. They ARE NOT flushable. This is the number one item besides tree roots that Sunny pulls from drains (wearing gloves, of course. 😁)
Feminine product, paper towels, Kleenex, etc. are NOT flushable.
Disinfectant wipes? Nope.
Consider using less toilet paper. I know. It's hard. Muscle memory. But you can do this!

Yeaaahhhh, about those fire alarms going off at the schools this morning...oops.

For some odd reason we are getting calls about frozen pipes. Maybe yesterday's -22 degrees could've had something to do with it. Ya think?

Tips:
Keep your cabinet doors open under your kitchen and bathroom sinks ESPECIALLY if they are located on an outside wall.

Leave your faucets dripping. Even a trickle can keep them from freezing.

Install a pipe sleeve (similar to the swimming noodles) or heat tape. If you're in a pinch even newspaper can help. These items can be found at True Value, I'm sure.

If your pipes have frozen and you can pinpoint the section, you can apply heat to it with a heating pad, a hairdryer or space heater (of course, keeping away from flammable materials).
