It's not often we see a bevel this deep, but it's very satisfying to watch it disappear when you have the right tools for the job! We don’t get to play with quarter sawn white oak often, but when we do, it’s definitely a treat! This project was a massive 1800 sq ft with over 30 steps! For the stain colors, the customer chose special walnut for the floor, and dark walnut for the steps. Isn’t it just amazing how much beauty hides underneath all those years of traffic? We walked into a homeowners worst nightmare with this one! They had hired another contractor to do the work, only to find out they had no experience refinishing hardwood floors. Luckily the homeowner was quick to stop them, and call a professional for a second opinion before any real damage could be done. Check out this transformation! With this project we used Duraseal Neutral stain, and Bona Mega satin (shiny when wet, but drys to a satin look) as the finish on both the oak, and the pine sections of the home. These older farm houses never cease to amaze us! With this project, we had the opportunity to play with a few different species side by side. It's amazing much we continue to learn from every floor we do! The different species were Ash, Poplar, and Pine. We used Duraseal special walnut, and Poloplaz satin oil based floor finish on all three species to bring this old house back to life!
