As your lawn starts to wake up from winter, let Coach's Lawn Care prepare it for a good year of growth.

RAKE - Spring raking removes lingering fall leaves and grass that didn't survive winter. Left alone, these will add to your lawn's thatch layer, which can smother new growth. Now is the time to let Troy, at Coach's Lawn Care, dethatch your lawn.

MOW - The mowing season begins when the ground is dry enough and grass is long enough to require cutting. With spring holidays quickly approaching, let Coach's Lawn Care get your lawn ready for the Easter Bunny's upcoming visit.

If you want a free estimate for your lawn's spring clean-up, or for your lawn care needs for the season, call (502) 352-8019 or email [email protected].

At Coach's Lawn Care, we will give your lawn the home field advantage.

A Few Lawn Care Tips for Winter

Keep it Clean - If your family is as busy as ours, you know that it's easy to accidently leave items on the lawn during the winter. Toys, logs, and even lawn furniture can be overlooked before snow comes. If an object is left on the grass in the cold and snow, the weight of it will cause the grass in that area to be stunted and thinner than the rest of the yard come spring.

Avoid Excessive Lawn Traffic - Try to prevent excessive foot traffic on your winter lawn. Grass is pretty resilient, but it will have a difficult time recovering if a path becomes well-worn across the lawn. Keep your sidewalks cleared of ice and snow so that you and your guests won’t be tempted to cut across the yard.

PREPARE NOW! - Let Coach's Lawn Care help prepare your lawn before we have consistently cold temperatures. With the erratic weather we've had lately, your lawn may need one more mow, or still have leaves that need to be removed. We also can help get your lawn furniture moved for the winter. Call, email or message us at (502) 352-8019 or [email protected].

To Rake or Not to Rake...

Your lawn will be healthier if you rake those leaves, especially if you have Bluegrass and tall fescue. These two varieties don't go dormant until temperatures drop to about 35°F, and use that time to absorb sunlight and store energy for spring growth. If there's a layer of leaves blocking patches of grass, those patches may grow slower in the spring, making your lawn look uneven and unhealthy.

So rake, blow, or mow fallen leaves. Letting shredded leaves sit on your lawn after mowing is okay, too, because the debris will turn into fertilizer and block w**d growth.

Let Coach's Lawn Care get those leaves cleaned-up for you and get your lawn ready for winter. Call, text or email us today!
