⛈️ Here we go again… another round of storms is headed our way.
July and August have certainly not been kind to our area.
We are already inundated with calls, texts, emails, and requests from yesterday’s storm, while still working through damage and assessment requests from the July 27th storms. Before that, we were still recovering from the Fourth of July storms. It has been one round after another.
Over the past six weeks, our team has dealt with just about everything Mother Nature could throw at us. We’ve worked without power and internet, handling customer contact through our personal cell phones when our office systems were down. We’ve had sections of our office ceiling collapse. We’ve dealt with storm damage at our own home, including losing a tree, having another damaged, and having our fence go down.
And through all of it, we’ve kept working.
Precise Tree Care is a small, family owned and operated company. Both of our kids work here, along with the rest of what we consider our extended Precise family. These are the people answering your messages, assessing your properties, putting together proposals, coordinating schedules, running equipment, cleaning up debris, and doing everything we can to help our community recover.
In less than six weeks, we have received more than 1,500 requests for storm damage cleanup and assessments. There are only so many of us, and thousands of people throughout our area who need help.
Can mistakes happen? Absolutely.
Can something occasionally slip through the cracks when we are dealing with this kind of volume and working under these circumstances? Absolutely.
We’re human. We’re doing the best we can, and we will always be upfront about that.
What we can promise is that we are here, we are working, and we are doing everything we reasonably can to help as many people as possible.
Storm damage cannot simply be handled in the order the phone rings. We have to prioritize based on severity. Trees on homes, vehicles, power lines and roadways, precariously hanging limbs, damaged structures, and other situations posing an immediate safety concern have to come first.
We know it is frustrating to wait when you have damage on your own property. When it is your home and your trees, your situation understandably feels urgent. But when we have to choose between routine cleanup and a tree on someone’s home or threatening their safety, we are going to help the person in immediate danger first. We would hope someone would do the same for you if the situation were reversed.
And while we’re being transparent, we’ll add one more thing.
Please be kind to our team.
We understand that storm damage is stressful, frustrating, and sometimes downright scary. We understand that people want answers and want their property taken care of as quickly as possible. We have plenty of patience for worried customers, questions, frustration, and people who simply need answers.
What we do not have time or patience for is yelling at, insulting, threatening, belittling, or disrespecting the people who are trying to help you.
Our team has been working incredibly hard under circumstances most people never see behind the scenes, and no one here deserves to be treated poorly for doing their job.
So please, don’t bring it. 😉
We will always treat our customers with respect, and we expect the same treatment for our team. If that cannot happen, we are perfectly comfortable declining or discontinuing service. We have done it before, and we will do it again.
There are thousands of people who need our help right now. Our time is much better spent helping those who appreciate our efforts than arguing with those who believe they are entitled to demand them.
We genuinely want to help everyone we can. A little patience, kindness, and understanding goes a long way, especially during times like these.
With another round of severe weather approaching, please be careful. Trees throughout our area have already endured repeated high winds, saturated ground, tornadoes, and severe storms. Trees and limbs that survived the previous storms may be weakened and could fail during another round.
If you are already in our queue, you have not been forgotten. If your situation has changed or become more dangerous since you last contacted us, please send us an update.
And to the overwhelming majority of our customers who have been patient, kind, encouraging, and understanding with our office staff, arborists, and crews through all of this, THANK YOU. You have no idea how much our entire Precise family appreciates it. 💚
Stay weather aware, stay away from damaged trees, hanging limbs, and downed power lines, and most importantly, please stay safe.
Hopefully Mother Nature decides we’ve all had enough soon. 🌳🙏
