This is definitely the most unique board I've made so far. It's 12"×15"×1⅜" it came out alittle shorter than I wanted it to be. I miss measured when making the chevron billet. Still came out great nonetheless. Made from Cherry, Black Walnut, Hard Maple, and Purpleheart

Two birds one stone situation here. Water popping to raise the grain and get a preview before sanding with the final grit of 220. While it's still wet I like to do my branding because it comes put much crisper. I always try to dampen the surface before branding but I don't always remember to.

⚠️ Caution headphone users volume down ⚠️. Adding a juice groove with my new favorite method. I've been told this video is AI or I cut this on a cnc before using the palm router. Sorry this all done by hand by me. I didn't hit record before cutting the corners off so the video jumps from square corners to round corners. I used the bandsaw to cut them off.

Ripping some stubborn Hard Maple and Black Walnut for the next project. This should be a good one.

Ripping some strips of Cherry for another project. I'll get to it tomorrow hopefully.

Part 5- Sanding to 120 grit then water popping to raise the grain before sanding up to 220 grit. This is the most crucial part of utensil making in my opinion. Water popping between each grit ensure a much smoother surface for much longer. I'll water pop atleast 2 more times before I finish these. I saw somebody wet sanding their utensils I might have to try that one of these days.

Part 4- Gluing in the pin being careful not to get glue on the middle of the dowel. This part needs to pivot. I'm using a bamboo dowel or skewer as long as it's thick enough. These are alittle bigger than 5mm. The bamboo is much stronger than the wood in this orientation so it's perfect for this application.

Part3- Sanding the profiles into the ends of each half of the tongs. Sanding a bevel on the back of each helps aid in getting underneath whatever it is your grabbing with them.

Part 2- Cutting the parts for the hinge and doing a dry fit. I just want to make sure they won't squeak when their in use.

Part 1 of my next restock project. I'm making salad/flip tongs. They are one of my biggest sellers. Recently I've been fortunate enough to have some of my items for sale in a store! These are one of the items. Next parts coming soon.
