Wall mountable mini bucket holders. This one is made out of 1/8 inch walnut plywood with box joints.

Ash and walnut endgrain chess board trimmed in cherry. The edge has a round over with a 15 degree undercut bevel. Finished with the house made 100% tung oil and bees wax in a 4:1 ratio, not only pretecting the wood and bring out the beauty in the grain but also keeping it food grade. Another wall hanging challenge coin holder completed today. This one is made with solid cherry wood carcass using splined miter joints for the corners, the splines are made from walnut. The reasoning for a splined miter joint is to give a clean and crisp corner but adding the spline helps strengthen the joint by adding wood with the grain moving in a different direction (across the joint) and it gives it a very nice and decorative feature. The glass was then laser etched to commemorate a service member time. I also did a half inset hinge (not finished in the picture) to accent but not completely show the hinge on the door. This has 4 double grooved adjustable shelves for coins included. The finish is a new house made blend of 100% pure tung oil and bees wax in a 4:1 ratio, The tung oil will pe*****te the wood and seal the grain providing years of beauty and the bees wax will provide a satin like feel with water resistance. I have to say thank you to Detwiler Custom Woodworking for providing me with exceptional quality material for all the project happening in the workshop.

A gift went out the door today. Made with walnut, maple, ash and padauk. The main body is 5/8 walnut and the rest is 1/8 inch scales of real solid hardwood for use in the laser. Finished with rubio mono coat pure.

5 cutting boards freshly oiled and waxed ready for a new home. These boards are a combination of Maple, Ash, Walnut and Cherry and finished with a 2.5:1 ratio of mineral oil and bees wax. All hardwood are sourced from Indiana via Detwiler Custom Woodworking.
