We knew how proud tradeswomen are of their craft and their teams. But we learned that they want more to feel truly skilled.

💛Tradeswomen want clear, actionable protocols for reporting safety and harassment violations on the job (and they want swift, transparent follow up).

💛Tradeswomen want refreshers on reading drawings.

💛Tradeswomen also want to learn more about their industry - especially Estimating & essential technology (Bluebeam, Microsoft).

Elevating women at work and allyship with the LGBTQ+ community both challenge gender norms, expand leadership, and create safer, more inclusive workplaces. Supporting women's advancement strengthens solidarity, amplifies diverse voices, and helps everyone thrive.

An article posted late last year in Forbes magazine explains how A.I. poses no threat to jobs in our industry:

"Far from taking skilled trade jobs, AI may actually enhance job security for those trade professionals who apply it to the routine aspects of their everyday work."

"In the trades, administrative tasks like contracts, documentation, inventory management and more are perfect candidates for AI assistance."

This tech offloading was also noted by panelists Latrice Lewis of Frederick County Workforce Services and Ngoc Chen of NCE BIM Consulting at a recent Lunch & Learn hosted by Frederick County Building Industry Association last week.

HOT TAKE: It's no coincidence that both National Safety Month and Pride Month are celebrated in June.

Both are about protecting people—physically and emotionally.
