One of our projects this week was a 15 Kv bushing replacement. This included draining 5000 gallons of oil, disconnecting failed bushing, testing, then installing new bushing. After that, the fun begins, pulling vacuum on the transformer, then vacuum filling from a tanker trailer. Then hot oil processing of the oil. This project was for a Solar Farm. The solar inverters send 34.5KV to the substation, transformers step up the voltage to 345Kv, and sell it to AEP.
