Great news for the solar industry & for the U.S.'s future. We are excited to see an acceleration in solar projects in the U.S. This announcement has given us clarity on the future of solar jobs, businesses, and our climate while positioning the U.S. to be a global leader in solar installation.

The decision has been nearly universally lauded across the solar industry, and thought leaders in policy, advocacy, and project development have chimed in with their perspective on the decision and…

An increase in natural gas prices caused electricity prices to jump 51%, to $80.28/MWh, in the first quarter of 2022 in the PJM Interconnection wholesale market.

Diversifying our energy sources and prioritizing the expansion of renewable energy can help to limit inflation for energy consumers. We need to transition to responsible renewable energy—including solar—to fulfill our energy needs while preserving our environment.

The surge in gas prices is partly driven by growing liquefied natural gas exports, according to consumer advocates.

"U.S. solar installations could fall 50% or more under new tariffs."

Are you up on your Auxin Solar tariff news? We’ve got you covered.

America’s solar industry is feeling the negative effects of a new tariff investigation led by the Department of Commerce. If this trade probe continues for an extended period, it would severely damage our clean energy goals, crush solar businesses, and leave solar employees out of work. Check out this article written by Canary Media with data from SEIA.

Secretary Gina Raimondo
Secretary Jennifer Granholm

If the Commerce Department imposes trade sanctions sought by Auxin, the solar industry could be set back years and lose tens of thousands of jobs.

Our community solar project in Kankakee is now apart of ComEd's "Give A Ray Program."

"Community solar facilities are shared by subscribers who earn credits on their electricity bills for their share of the power produced by a solar array. The Gar Creek project is part of ComEd’s “Give-A-Ray” program, which increases access to clean, solar energy for low and moderate income customers. The Gar Creek project is open to qualified customers who live anywhere in ComEd’s northern Illinois region."

Here at Fosler Solar we are constantly looking ahead to be better and brighter than we were yesterday. Aiding in that change for us is Don DuLac. He heads up the Pre-Construction team as the Director.
His ambition is to help demonstrate and leverage the importance a Pre-Construction team has in the renewable energy industry. He and his team “work diligently to hand over well-formed projects to the construction team.” The goal of Pre-Construction is to have most aspects of strategy, partnerships, negotiations, and resources identified and addressed through growing knowledge and client empathy. One of the things he enjoys most about the role is “taking pride in knowing we are building the next generation of thoughtful leaders and helping meet client needs.”
A key ingredient in Fosler’s recipe is team chemistry and comradery. Don’s interest in Fosler piqued as he recognized the management team dedicates themselves to a “culture of honesty, integrity, and frequent work recognition.” He also acknowledged his team’s desire to problem solve; they want to learn.
“You can train individuals how to most daily tasks, but a person cannot be trained to “want” to learn on their own or think about what solution would be best for the entire group,” Don shares.
When not building his team up through a good sense of humor, he likes to work on his house/yard or brag about his kids. He also mentions he loves to badly sing along with old rock or country songs. Good thing we all love that Old Time Rock & Roll, Don we are excited with what you have done so far and continue to do here at Fosler.

With Solar Energy being such a rapidly growing industry, we are bound to encounter those who have an interest in joining Fosler Solar along for the ride. One such person is Jamil Neto, our Project Acquisitions Specialist. He works with our Business Development team to build relationships and our pipeline within the industry. He came to us with an interest in wanting to be part of a growing renewable energy team.

While Jamil says the challenge of assimilating with a new team requires consistent communication with his peers, he’s enjoying “the opportunity to deal with different business and projects and working an exciting pace.”

We are ecstatic to hear Jamil is settling into his new role and learning the industry quickly. Jamil has shared, “Fosler Solar is a place where I can grow and develop my career based on how I have been treated since my first day. I’ve worked for major players in different sectors, I am happy and proud to be a part of Fosler Solar.” Among other accomplishments Jamil is proud of is a merit scholarship he received from Disney, Inc to continue his education. He used the scholarship to attend Harvard Business School.

Speed must be the spice of life for Jamil, outside of work he is a self-professed motorcycle enthusiast who loves traveling.

Fosler Solar recognizes the real power in our business are the outstanding individuals working every day to realize the company’s vision. We are kicking off a weekly series highlighting a team member who makes Fosler Solar’s impact on the world a little brighter.

----------------------------------

One of our more recent hires, Allison Bondele, is a former Fosler intern who is excited to be part of “a local business where I grew up.” She appreciates how much she feels welcomed on the team and “not just a body here to do a job, people genuinely want me here.” Allison’s role isn’t without challenges though, as a Cost Analyst she’s asked to forecast and manage costs on existing and new projects all while trying to learn and develop a role that’s not existed in the company before.

“One of the biggest challenges is that I’m pulled in a lot of different directions. I work to overcome those challenges by exploring new ideas on how to complete a task or asking superiors questions on how they’d like to see things done,” Allison said.

We are confident in Allison’s ability to define her new role because of her academic accomplishments. She graduated in 3 ½ years with as a Finance major with a Management minor with a goal to have a job lined up prior to graduation. She also served as President for her school’s Resident Hall Association and presented a speech at ribbon cutting ceremony.

Outside of her lifelong passion for numbers, Allison enjoys time with her family and friends and traveling. She is looking forward to her European and Mediterranean cruise this summer.
