Today we finished a shower tiling job for Wendy Criswell. This job had initially been started by another contractor. We came in and removed most of what was already done down to the studs and started over (See the first photo). Plumbing was cleaned up and positioned correctly, niche opening was added to the correct wall. We then installed a tile ready shower pan and Schluter waterproof foam board on the walls. We also added a Schluter waterproof corner seat. The floor and the curb were tiled using river rocks. The curb was a bit of a challenge, but it turned out really good. Blue glass tile accents were added on the RH and LH sides of the shower, giving a waterfall look. The walls were tiled with marble pattern large format ceramic tile. Niche, seat and where the wall tile meet the existing bathroom walls were trimmed using matte black Schluter trim. The shower fixtures are also matte black. Really proud of how this turned out. We hope Wendy enjoys it as much as we did working with her.

Last week we completed a basement bathroom remodel for Andrea Bender. The old bathroom had not been used in a long time. Everything was removed from the old bathroom and block walls on 2 sides of the old bathroom was also removed. New walls were built increasing the size of the new bathroom. The drain for the shower had to be moved to accommodate a larger shower. The floor had to be leveled and new drywall was added to the block foundation that formed one wall of the bathroom. Andrea decided to add faux brick panels to the wall opposite the vanity/toilet. That work was completed after the photos were taken. Thank you to Andrea for choosing us for this job. I know she will be happy having a second bathroom to use.

Last weekend we installed a new back door and storm door for Mikey & Nessa Jarrett. This job was challenging because the opening height was only around 72" which meant we had to cut down the new door, door frame and the new storm door. You get kinda nervous when you have to make modifications like that to brand new doors. We trimmed the outside in PVC so they won't ever have to paint. Everything turned out really well, Beau and I are very proud of how everything looked in the end. Most of all, Mikey and Nessa are happy which is what it's all about. Thank you Karen Weit for choosing us for this project, we hope to work for you again soon.

This morning we finished a new roof over an existing outdoor kitchen for Chad & Tonia Copsey. This project was challenging and had me scratching my head on several occasions. But the results are extraordinary and I couldn't be more proud of how it turned out.
Starting with 20" diameter support pillars that had to be dug by hand under an existing deck. 6" x 6" polycarbonate support posts with fiberglass rebar, which were extremely heavy. 11 7/8" x 36' LVL support beams that sat into notches cut into the polycarbonate supports. (6) Solar powered sky lights with retractable between the glass blinds and finally steel corrugated roofing. FYI Chad & Tonia's house is right on Lake Erie which meant we had to fight with mother nature on more than one occasion.
I had plenty of sleepless nights both before and during this project, but my team pulled through and we were able to provide the Copsey's with the shelter from the elements they were looking for.
Special thanks to Matt Lochotzki for the help with the concrete support pillars and Stephen Lohr for the gutter & downspout.
Thank you for having faith in me and the BOS Construction & Remodeling team. Enjoy!

Last week we finished a new back deck for Mike & Robin Mohr. Their original deck was failing and there was steps from the back door down to the deck. We removed and disposed of the existing deck/steps and built a new wooden deck that is level with the threshold of the back door. We added a set of 4' wide steps to the right of the back door with custom wooden railings. We built a wheelchair ramp to the left of the back door to make getting up to the new deck level easier. The new deck as well as the wheelchair ramp also included new custom railings.
We absolutely loved working with Mike, Robin and Brad. Thank you for the endless supply of gatorade, water and cookies! We are thankful for you choosing us to build this deck for you. I know you'll get years and years of enjoyment out of it.

Today we completed a bathroom remodel for Jeff Atzinger and his wife. This is the only full bathroom in their house, so we worked as quickly as possible. Luckily for us, Jeff, his wife and kids were very patient. But, their patience paid off as they have a beautiful new bathroom to enjoy. They purchased a new vanity, shower surround with tub, flooring, vent, light and fixtures. The original opening for the tub was a little undersize, so we had to plane down one wall to get the new one to fit. A little drywall repair and some new baseboard and casing trim and it was done.
We really enjoyed this job and look forward to working with these great people again soon.

Today we completed a 30' long x 12' wide cedar deck project for Ed Chimahusky and his wife. This is the first time we've worked with cedar deck boards, but I could not be happier with the results. The steps surrounding the deck were challenging as the height of the deck off the ground ranged from 7" to 9 1/2". But with some help from the homeowner, we came up with a plan that pleased everyone.
Thank you for being a repeat customer Ed, we truly enjoy working with you and your wife. And thank you for the cookies, we all enjoyed them.
With any luck, we'll work together again in the near future. Enjoy your beautiful deck.

We recently completed a room remodel for Mike & Pam Mezinger at their salon (Michael Andrew) on State Street. Their dispensary room needed some updating and changes. We removed the sink, countertop and cabinet as well as the paneling and the trim on the walls. We got rid of the old copper plumbing from the previous salon as well as the old plumbing from the sink. We ran a new pvc drain line and new PEX water lines for the new stainless steel sink we installed. New drywall on the walls as well as installing flooring where it previously was not. Added stainless steel backsplash around the new sink. We removed their existing back entry door and replaced it with a new steel entry door. New black metal railings on the porch as well as one side of the steps. Finally we replaced the wrough iron back roof support with a treated 4x4 post. Then we wrapped the new post in black aluminum. Hopefully this will give them what they need from the new dispensary.
Thank you Mike & Pam for letting us help you with this, we really enjoyed the job and the company.
