In 1970 Mike Carsten started a new concrete contracting company, aptly named Carsten Concrete, serving the greater Fresno / Clovis area. The company signed a

license agreement with The Bomanite Company in 1973 and quickly became the leading decorative concrete contractor in the Central Valley and Central Coast. In 1995, the company changed its name to Heritage Bomanite to reflect its close ties with The Bomanite Company. On July 1, 2003, Mike Carsten sold Heritage Bomanite to Sergio A. In late 2003, Heritage Bomanite created two distinct divisions for its construction services. One was the Poured Concrete Division, which continued to specialize in colored imprinted concrete, concrete seat walls, sealers, integral colors, and other traditional concrete finishes. If it comes out of a ready mixed concrete truck, the Poured Concrete Division takes care of it! The other division was the Specialty Division, which continued to install interior cement based toppings, stains, overlays and sealers. In 2005 we began to expand our services by offering polished and dyed concrete finishes, installed by the Specialty Division (the SD) as well as pervious concrete installations, installed by the Poured Concrete Division (the PCD). In 2007, we began offering chemical concrete hardening, joint filling and sealing services and cement plastering (the SD). In 2011 we began offering exposed sand finished concrete (the PCD), which has proven to be a very popular finish for pool decks and patios. In 2013, Heritage Bomanite created a new Construction Division (CD) offering outdoor residential construction services such as kitchens, BBQ islands, pergolas, arbors, fire pits, walls, stone veneers, etc. In 2015, we began offering artificial turf (through the CD) to help our customers deal with the ongoing drought and water use restrictions. Heritage Bomanite regularly works in conjunction with architects, landscape architects, landscape designers, swimming pool contractors, and directly with homeowners. Since 1970 Heritage Bomanite has developed a reputation for high quality, excellent customer service, and superior product design and installation. Each of our company divisions strives to provide the very highest level of quality installation that our customers expect, and each new type of construction service that we add allows our customers to make sure they are receiving top quality service and support for their entire project.
