Ellerd Creations partnered with L2 Construction to help out a client with their chimney fire. The client replaced the fireplace and flue, L2 provided the manpower to patch the drywall and paint, Ellerd Creations designed, built and installed the built-in shelving units on each side of the fireplace.
The biggest challenge of the design was the location of the window. I was able to design the shelving units on angle to just fit inside the window trim.

So after last week’s incident with the nailgun, I came into the office this morning to find a package on my desk from one of my superintendents. This was too funny, a first aid kit, bottle of bourbon and a safety toolbox talk on nailgun safety!!! Got to love it!!!

Working on some built-ins for a client in the shop today and broke a golden rule of carpentry 101. Keep your finger out of the immediate area when using a nail gun. You just never know what the grain in the lumber is going to cause the nail to do something stupid.
I pulled the trigger and felt a god awful pain in my thumb, the nail had caught the grain and came out the side of the lumber and straight through my thumb and then through my thumb nail.
This is gonna be sore tomorrow!
