🔨 The future of the trades is looking pretty bright 💡and we’re here for it.
The attached News & Observer article highlights something we love seeing: more young people are recognizing that the skilled trades can offer a real, successful career path.
This one hits a little closer to home for us.
Both owners of Big Monkey Renovation & Repair attended Wake Tech for Construction Management. What we learned there became part of the foundation for careers that ultimately led us to owning and operating Big Monkey Reno today.
And opportunities like those are still available.
Wake Tech offers Construction Management along with training and pathways in skilled trades like electrical, HVAC, plumbing, welding and more. There are degrees, certificates, workforce training and apprenticeship opportunities different paths for different goals.

That's also one of the reasons we're always happy to visit our local high schools and talk with students about careers in construction and the trades.

We want students to know:
🧰 College doesn't have to mean a traditional four-year degree.
🔨 Working with your hands doesn't mean you aren't building a career.
📐 The trades require skill, education, problem-solving and craftsmanship.
🏗️ And there are a LOT of different ways to build a successful future in this industry.
