Words don’t really do justice to the size of the great room in this house. It’s a great space and one that most of the living will happen in. Holidays, entertaining friends, homework, everyday dinners, movie nights and memories will happen in this space over the coming decades. One of the greatest things about this insane profession I’ve chosen is that you get to build the spaces where life happens. It never gets old; exhausting sometimes, but never routine.

Next one up! We’ll be drilling piers within the next week and start making up time with this long running project. If you’ve never built a home before, you’d be shocked at the time it takes to go from plans to construction (certain jurisdictions make it a sport I think). This particular project; three years.

I’ll leave that story for another day; but for now, we’re happy to be making progress and getting this dream built for a great client.

About ten hours of pouring, finishing and stamping and this slab is on the ground and ready to be built on. From a sheet of notebook paper to reality.

Many of them start that way but in any case, what was once an idea has now become reality and we couldn’t be happier to start this build and get rolling. Stay tuned for progress pics as we get into construction and tell us what you think.

Here we go! The weather finally gave us a break and God blessed us with a beautiful day. In a few hours, we’ll have over 7000 sqft of new concrete on the ground and we’re off and running on this beautiful new modern farmhouse design.

It doesn’t look like anything yet, except maybe the beginning of a pond, but in about a week this eight foot hole in the ground will become the finished pad site for this new project; one six inch lift at a time.

Each lift is tested in three spots for moisture and compaction and then we move on to the next until we get to the top, select fill cap. Seem like a lot of work? It is but, some of the soils in North Texas are so expansive that you have to mitigate the risks associated with them.

That’s the case here. All of this is to ensure the health of the slab for decades to come. Without the giant holes in the ground at the beginning, you can rest assured that you’ll be digging holes in the ground later to fix the slab. On any build, this investment is some of the best money you’ll spend on your project.

Another 2026 new build project, this home is situated on an 11 acre parcel. Like many folks these days, the owners decided to leave the city behind and build their forever home in place where the pace is a little slower.

We’ll also be constructing a large metal barn to used for water storage tanks, office space and general man cave activities. Every man I know would gladly let their wives pick anything in the house as long as they get the shop with man cave amenities. We can handle that.

The home is a little over 6200 sqft under roof with 4000 sqft of living space; 4BR, 4.5 bath with a study, music room, prep kitchen, 3 car garage and a massive back porch featuring its own fireplace and outdoor cooking area. We even have a door especially for the canine family members.

Great house, great family and an awesome property. We expect construction to begin late spring.

Starting 2026 off right with a new custom build on 2 acres. This home features 7019 sqft under roof with 5400 air conditioned square feet, 5BR/office/media - play room/study/4 car garage/3 bath/2 guest bath/2nd floor game room plus an eventual MIL suite.

The modern farmhouse style will also include large front and rear porches and a Porte-Cochere along with a massive great hall for living, dining and kitchen spaces.

The project has been about a year in the making; both we and the owners are excited about the next 10-12 months as we build their family’s home.

As always, we’ll keep the pics and videos coming as we go. We’ll start moving dirt within the next two weeks.
