Sometimes beating the rain comes down to having enough experienced people on the roof.

With rain closing in, we had a crew of more than 12 working together to keep this roof replacement moving from one day into the next.

A larger crew lets us divide up tear-off, dry-in, installation, and cleanup instead of stretching each stage across unnecessary days. In Florida, that efficiency isn't just about finishing faster. It helps limit how long the home is exposed while the old roofing system is removed.

We narrowly missed the rain and got this one wrapped up.

When you're planning a roof replacement, ask how the crew plans to handle changing Florida weather while your roof is open.

Here's another pricing challenge.

This home received a 47 square Driftwood shingle roof. Looking only at the finished product, what would you guess the homeowner invested in a roof like this?

From signed contract to a completed 130-square commercial reroof in just 15 days.

This project at Kanapaha Station off Archer Road in Gainesville included two commercial shingle roofs covering roughly 130 squares. The contract was signed, and just 11 days later our crews were on site starting construction.

That meant getting permits, paperwork, materials, crews, and logistics handled quickly enough to keep the project moving without cutting corners.

With several businesses operating throughout construction, we split two crews between the buildings. The smaller 30-square building was completed first while those businesses were closed, then both crews focused on the larger 100-square building.

Three days after construction started, both roofs were finished and the property was cleaned up.

11 days from signed contract to construction. 3 days of roofing. 15 days from contract to a completed new roof.

This roof was totaled by hail, and one of the warning signs was sitting right in the gutters.

After the storm, granules knocked loose from the shingles had started building up in the gutter system. Some granule loss happens naturally over a roof's life, but heavy buildup after a hailstorm can be a sign that the shingles took significant impact damage.

This month, we removed the damaged roofing system and replaced it from the deck up, taking this home from a hail-damaged roof back to a finished roofing system built for Florida weather.

The before and after tells the rest of the story.

Had hail hit your area recently? Check your gutters and shingles for signs of damage, and have the roof inspected if something doesn't look right.

70 squares in two days, with Florida weather working against us.

As we finish out the rainy season, a roof this size takes more than simply tearing everything off and hoping the forecast holds. We worked this 70-square reroof in sections, removing the old roofing and getting each area dried in before moving forward.

That approach helps keep the interior protected when rain can develop quickly, while still allowing our crew to keep the job moving.

Despite the weather, we worked around the conditions and completed all 70 squares in just two days.

Have a large or complicated roof replacement coming up? The plan for protecting your home during installation matters just as much as the finished roof.

How much do you think this full stack of shingles weighs?

This delivery includes 38 bundles of Owens Corning Duration shingles in Antique Silver for a roughly 24-square roof replacement.

Getting thousands of pounds of material onto the roof is one of the first big steps before installation even begins. In Florida, having the material staged and ready helps our crews move efficiently once tear-off starts, which matters when heat and afternoon rain can quickly change the plan.

Take your best guess at the total weight before we reveal it.

These chalk lines might be one of our most useful tools.

They give our crews a guide so every row of shingles stays straight from one end of the roof to the other.

It's a simple step that helps us work efficiently while delivering a roof that looks clean, uniform, and professionally installed.

This home received a 66 square Owens Corning Duration roof in Estate Gray.

At first glance it looks like a straightforward reroof, but the size alone makes it a major project. What would you guess a roof like this costs in today's market?

Before the shingles go on, the drip edge gets locked into place.

Each nail secures the drip edge, underlayment, and roof decking together, creating a strong foundation along the edge of the roof.

It's a simple step that helps protect your home every time it rains.

Finding one bad plank doesn't mean that's the only one we check.

Once the old roofing system is removed, our crew inspects the exposed roof decking and replaces any rotten or damaged wood that doesn't meet code. In this case, the video shows a single plank being replaced, but the same process applies anywhere we find compromised decking.

Your shingles, underlayment, and flashing are only as solid as the wood underneath them. Covering damaged decking might save time during installation, but it leaves a weak point underneath a brand-new roof.

We'd rather replace what needs replacing and give the new roofing system a solid, code-compliant foundation from day one.

Replacing your roof? Make sure what's underneath it gets just as much attention as what you can see when the job is finished.
