🦉❤️ 40 YEARS OF SCHERER — CELEBRATING DOUG WILCOX - OUR CEO & OUR WISE OWL!
Some milestones are bigger than a number—and 40 years is certainly one of them!
We recently had the honor of celebrating Doug Wilcox, CEO of Scherer Construction of North Florida, for an incredible 40 years with Scherer Construction! 🎉
Doug truly is our OG. He’s our leader, our mentor, our wise owl 🦉 and a huge part of the reason Scherer has been able to build, grow and serve communities throughout North Central Florida for four decades.
Doug began his Scherer career in St. Petersburg, working his way through the field and office as a draftsman, superintendent and project manager. In 1991, he took a leap and established our Gainesville office, growing what started as a one-person satellite office into the North Florida headquarters and team we are so proud of today. He later helped expand our presence into Jacksonville, continuing Scherer’s growth throughout the region.
And after 40 years, Doug is still engaged, still involved and still invested in our people and our projects. He cares deeply about this company, shares plenty of wisdom (whether we ask for it or not 😉), and continues to remind us that relationships, reputation and doing things the right way matter.
Doug, THANK YOU for 40 years of leadership, hard work, vision, loyalty and heart. What you helped build goes far beyond buildings—it’s a team, a culture and a legacy.
