Prior to setting out on her own, Ms. Monk played key design roles on award-winning projects in internationally renowned offices in New York City and Washington DC, including five years at Richard Meier & Partners Architects. She has worked in multiple capacities on numerous building typologies including single-family & high-rise residential, boutique hospitality, educational, and government projects. Monk grew up in Jupiter, Florida and has lived in New York City, Washington DC, and New Orleans. She currently resides in Highland Park, New Jersey. In addition to work in industry, Ms. Monk has lead architectural design studios at Tulane University, University of Florida, and Yale University. Her research interests include studio instruction & pedagogy, specifically strategies for foundational design studios, color theory in the Josef Albers tradition, graphic communication, and detailing.
