TW Construction

TW Construction Commercial General Contractor, Construction Manager It all came together in 2005 when Jerry and Donnie opened the doors to their own enterprise.

The Therrien Waddell Construction team began its incubation in the 1970s.“I had been in the construction business for a few years, and here is this guy fresh out of college on the construction site,” said Donnie Waddell. Young Jerry Therrien proved to be a quick learner, and he and Donnie built a mutual respect for each other from the ground up, moving earth and building structures together, and u

ltimately leading the construction operations of two development companies over the next decades. Over the years, Jerry and Donnie built reputations based on honesty and unwavering values. They experienced the integration of leasing requirements, lenders, property management, government regulators, design needs, building efficiency, schedule imperatives and cost control lessons through a vast variety and scope of projects. Donnie explained the partnership as “a natural path to the next phase in our evolution. Together, we learned the value of viewing the project from different perspectives. We learned the right way to treat people and to execute plans.”

The most important part of history is how it shapes the future. “In 2005, our time had come,” said Jerry. “We had experience, maturity, professional credibility. We built great industry relationships. It was the right time to pull all of the experience and relationships together.” The partners recruited trusted and experienced people from the industry with whom they had history. Today, many of those people are still part of the business family formed by Jerry and Donnie. In the decade since TW was formed, the team has been awarded some prestigious honors for a variety of projects. Our expertise has expanded into a broad range of project types. Although we have grown in breadth and depth, our fundamental values will never change:

We treat others as we want to be treated. We look for ways to make every project exceptional. We honor our communities through service.

Construction is underway on the new Baby Einstein Child Development Center in Washington, D.C.!

The original Baby Einstein location was severely damaged in a gas explosion in January 2024, and this rebuild is the new home for a program eager to continue serving its community.

The scope covers a full conversion of an existing row home into a two-floor daycare facility, transforming first floor retail and a second floor apartment into a purpose-built childcare space designed from the ground up for the children and families who depend on it.

We are proud to be building this one alongside a great project team.

Change orders, missed scope, late design decisions, material needs that were unaccounted: these SURPRISES are the risks that blow budgets and push timelines.

During a proper preconstruction process, with hands on oversight and reviews, most of these risks are PREVENTABLE.

When you invest time in preconstruction planning, you are actually buying:

✅ A budget built on real numbers, not assumptions
✅ A schedule that accounts for lead times, permitting, and trade availability prior to mobilization
✅ Scope gaps identified ahead of time
✅ A project team that is aligned before the pressure is on in the field

The contractors who skip preconstruction borrow it from the backend of the job, with interest. 40+ years in commercial construction has taught us that the projects that go smoothly are almost never lucky. They are well-planned.

Roof work is one of those scopes that does not get enough credit. Done right, it protects everything below it for decades. Done wrong, it is everybody's problem.

We’re happy to announce we have been selected by Westmoreland Cooperative for a full roof replacement!

The scope covers removal and replacement of the existing roof system, plus removal and replacement of the existing rooftop deck. Clean slate, top to bottom.

We're glad to bring the right team to this one.

June is National Safety Month. For us, it is also just...June.

Safety is not something we turn on for a campaign. It is how we run every job, every day. The non-negotiables on every Third Wall site are not a checklist. They are a culture.

40+ years in commercial construction. Zero shortcuts.

New project award!

We're stoked to be working with St. Mark Orthodox Church in Washington D.C. We'll be replacing and supplementing the existing mechanical systems throughout the entire facility, alongside some minor architectural improvements to round out the work.

Projects like this matter. Faith communities rely on their spaces every single day, and making sure those spaces work the way they should is work we take seriously.

Shoutout to our project partners:

More updates to come as this one gets underway.

This week is Construction Safety Week, and there’s no time like th present to reiterate what we believe: safety is not a checklist, it is a culture.

The 2026 theme is ALL IN TOGETHER, and that resonates with how we approach every job, especially tenant fit-outs.

Fit-outs move fast. Occupied buildings, active corridors, coordinated trades, and tight timelines. The hazards don't slow down because the schedule is tight, so our commitment to safety doesn't either.

For us, that means:
🔷 Recognizing hazards before work begins, not after something goes wrong.
🔷 Responding with real controls in place, not just a sign on a wall.
🔷 Respecting every person on the jobsite and every phase of the work.

40+ years in commercial construction has taught us one thing above all else: the most important thing we build is trust. With our teams, our trade partners, and the clients counting on us to deliver safely.
