Dad's update: exceptional progress, discharge on 10th. Leaving Divine Mercy rehabilitation Sunday at 12:30. Significant daily advancements despite challenges. Introducing mechanical soft foods and nectarthicken liquids today, with oral feeding since yesterday, potentially removing G-tube could happen sooner than anticipated ..Insightful lessons, yet Dad's determination and Mom's support stand out. Commendable progress, keep striving!

We must reconvene to solicit help with building this wheelchair ramp. Final framework materials are needed. Meetings with healthcare professionals and therapists disclosed that insurance restricts Dad's stay to 27 days, culminating in a November 10 discharge. We desperately require assistance within this 20-day period to ensure a seamless transition. Insurance hassles notwithstanding, stability allows home therapy. Support is crucial; kindly share this appeal.

We are pleased to announce that our father's transfer to Divine Mercy St. Mary's Rehabilitation Hospital was successful. The facility is impressive, boasting modern amenities and impeccable cleanliness. He is adapting well to his new surroundings. While there is still a lengthy recovery process ahead, we welcome visitors during designated hours from 8 AM to 8 PM, room 322 on the third floor. Please coordinate with us in advance, as his intensive three-hour daily physical therapy sessions may impact visitation times, requiring alternative options such as observing therapy or utilizing the cafeteria. We appreciate your ongoing support and prayers during this significant transition.

"Update on Dad...

We've got some amazing news to share this morning! Nuro's visit brought a wonderful surprise - slight movement on the foot monitor, all on his own! It's a small miracle, and we're overjoyed. Things are slowly waking up, and our hopes are rising.

Another big step: this afternoon at 5:30, Dad will move to Divine Mercy's inpatient rehabilitation center in Peoria. For the next three weeks, he'll undergo intense physical therapy - three hours a day, five days a week. The goal: getting him home.

We're not out of the woods yet. Blood sugar and sodium levels are still a concern, but we're working to find that delicate balance. The rehab center's hospital-like setup ensures close monitoring and targeted support.

We can't thank you enough for the continuous prayers, thoughts, and love surrounding Dad. Your support means everything. If you'd like to visit, please know that hours are 8 AM-8 PM. We appreciate your understanding that no family members can stay overnight.

Keep praying, keep sending love. Every step forward is a blessing.

My father has undergone a successful surgical procedure and is currently recuperating. Despite temporary discomfort, the operation yielded favorable results, with stable vital signs, including blood pressure, reported by his physician. We wish him a restful night and appreciate the continued support and prayers from our network. Notably, during his recovery, my mother provided updates via phone, sharing that my father retains his sense of humor, having jokingly remarked that she has a boyfriend after expressing the words I love you to her sister 😂

Update on my father's condition: Unfortunately, he did not pass the swallow study this morning. The assessment revealed weakened sacs and muscles in the back of his throat, hindering his ability to clear them, and more critically, his epiglottis is not functioning. Consequently, he is undergoing surgery to have a gastrostomy tube (G-tube) inserted. Despite this setback, his medical team will continue speech therapy and exercises to improve his swallowing capabilities. My father remains determined to regain his ability to eat and drink orally. This development has been emotionally challenging for him, but he understands it's temporary. He is currently in surgery. We appreciate ongoing thoughts and prayers, particularly for my mother, who is struggling to cope with this development.

Good morning everyone, I'd like to provide a brief update regarding my father's health. Overnight, he was transferred from the Intensive Care Unit to the general neurology department on the third floor. The past week has been exceptionally challenging, witnessing my father navigate this difficult time. It has been a heart-wrenching and enlightening experience, particularly in understanding the recovery process for stroke victims. Although he still lacks mobility on his left side and requires assistance with feeding, he has demonstrated the ability to cross the midline with his sight. His speech has shown slight improvement, and we are scheduled for a video swallow test tomorrow. I would like to express my gratitude for the ongoing prayers and support during this arduous journey, which will involve extensive physical therapy and education on the recovery process, including managing emotional and frustration-related challenges. Today, we start our Sunday with a cherished tradition – watching the Bears game together, emphasizing the importance of communication and patience. Please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. My father's resilience and significant progress in a short period are truly inspiring.

With my dad having a major stroke and in the hospital I’m reaching to friends and family to help with Talia’s fight for the cure benefit. I need help gathering the last couple of items together. Making of baskets and and getting food ready for the benefit. my mom has helped me a lot but with my dad being in the hospital, her main focus right now is going to be him. I will still help but I am going to need help making the baskets and getting things together. I need trustworthy friends and family to help have so much going on with my dad and Talia I am stuck and need some help so please can somebody help get the rest of this together. Will have her last round of chemo starting Monday so she’s not gonna be able to help as much either.
