Early last year, our friend asked us if we had ever heard of Wiri Wiri peppers and if we’d wanna grow some. We jumped at the opportunity.
The plants grew beautifully here, and we were able to harvest more than enough to make an exclusive sauce for pop ups all over Nashville! Famous in Guyanese cuisine, Wiri Wiri peppers have a high heat level akin to a habanero, but with a specific (cherry-like) fruitiness. Y’all, it smelled like pure candy as we fermented the peppers 🍒 This easily became one of our favorite flavors of hot sauce we’ve ever tasted!
Last night was Banwari’s last pop up in Nashville for a bit before they hit the road to New York, and they, along with + did not disappoint! 🔥
We’re so proud of this collaboration and already counting the days til this year’s Wiri Wiri are here!
