OPERATOR POSITION: For STONEWORKS ENTERPRISES, LLC a subsidiary of American Fossil Solutions, LLC.
Location: Raleigh, NC & Durham, NC
This position may work at possible various construction job site locations, including local and out of state, based upon contract(s). Both daily and overnight travel may be required.
Main Job Tasks & Responsibilities:
Works under the direct supervision of superintendent, foreman or crew lead depending on organizational requirements for the project
Operate light and heavy duty construction equipment safely including skidsteers, excavators, dozers and other pieces of civil/ sitework equipment.
Become knowledgeable of all policies and procedures to promote Safety, Production and Quality
Will take an active role in the onsite safety planning at tailgate meetings and implementation of the company’s safety handbook while preforming task
Ability to remain calm, focused, and effective under pressure
Will stay on task to the role assigned daily
Will report all good catches, near misses, injuries, and incidents to direct report for proper reporting process
Assist project teamin good housekeeping of the projects and equipment.
Exercise Stop Work authority if a dangerous situation should arise
Perform pre-trip inspection on any piece of equipment
Make sure spotter policy is followed as well as establish safe trigger distances and minimum approach distances
Guarantee safe operation of piece of equipment
Perform routine maintenance of equipment and communicate maintenance concerns.
Skills & Requirements:
Operate equipment safely, skillfully and competently
Class A CDL preferred
Travel Required
Knowledge of safe construction methods and procedures
Knowledge of basic maintenance requirements
Leadership and management abilities
Working knowledge of grade checking and understanding of surveying information
Good written and verbal communication skills
Minimum of 5 years’ experience with skid loader, excavator, front end loader and/or bulldozer
Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
Ability/willingness to work in field outside of equipment
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
Vocational or construction management training a plus
30 Hour OSHA certification
First aid/CPR certification
Competent Person training
5-8 years of experience in chosen construction specialty
