The USD 457 Board of Education approved the competitive bid package for the Kenneth Henderson Middle School expansion project at its regular meeting on Oct. 12.
The package includes the final design, construction documents, and construction framework.
Drew Thon, USD 457 Deputy Superintendent, said work on the expansion project began over a year ago, and is a milestone piece of the K-5, 6-8 grade reconfiguration process.
Nick Nemechek, President of GMCN, the project’s architect, said the administration team from the school district, KHMS and the Plant Facilities Department came up with a set of goals to accomplish with the renovation.
