Thank you to everyone that showed up and participated in our Community Bark Beetle class on Thursday! We enjoyed meeting and sharing experiences with more people in our community.

A special shout out toWild Bills Coffee and Bistro for donating delicious banana bread goodies for the class. We are so grateful for the support and kindness we continue to receive from this community.

Thank you to the Garden Valley District Library for hosting us.

We hope to continue spreading knowledge and information through these community classes

The National Preparedness Level increased to 3 (PL3) today, June 18, 2026, as significant wildland fire activity continues across multiple geographic areas and the potential for additional large fires remains elevated in the days ahead.

While current resource capability remains sufficient to sustain incident operations, geographic areas are increasingly utilizing national support to accomplish incident management objectives. The increase reflects growing demand for firefighting resources and heightened fire potential across several regions of the country.

Have you noticed more pine trees turning yellow or dying around Garden Valley? It could be Mountain Pine Beetle activity. These boring beetles are going to be on the move as temperatures rise. Early action makes a big difference.
