If you have cracked or frayed cables on the outside of your house there’s a good chance water has gotten into your meter socket or electrical panel . That was the case here , you can see the bottom of panel all rusted out . We provided a new panel and addressed the frayed cable on the outside allowing water in . Had a long time customer call and say he smelt plastic smell around his panel . Turns out a plumbing company replaced his hot water tank and breaker and didn’t seat the breaker correctly . The bad connection creates heat and melted the plastic shield . Never let a non electrician work in your panel . By the way that’s a $4,000 SPAN panel .

On site in Cambridge on a power swap over after an upgrade . I will say all the linemen crew are always great to work with pretty much every where we go , very accommodating when on site and great at what they do . But Eversource Cambridge division engineering department needs to figure it out . Over 2 years to get this done
