It's not hard to crimp spade terminals on your fan leads... Or take the drain plug out of the bottom of the condenser fan motor. I wasn't surprised to see a Titan Capacitor in there too.

Must have been a slow day and they had to send the Comfort Advisor.

Another proud catch from my $50 AC Maintenance Special — small crack starting in the condenser fan blade.

Doesn’t look like much, but this is exactly the kind of thing that turns into: Shattered blade ->Damaged coil ->Motor Bearing Premature Wear ->High Pressure Short Cycling.

All way more expensive than catching it early.
This is why regular maintenance matters — not to sell parts, just to prevent bigger problems.
If your system hasn’t been looked at in a while, it might be worth a quick check before summer hits.

Preventative Maintenance is a great time to check common failures points—like run capacitors—that can turn a scorching day into a sweaty nightmare if they fail. These guys are prime suspects for breakdowns when it's 100+ outside, so we always check and recommend replacements if they're 5%+ out of spec. (Pro tip: Dirty condensers speed up their "retirement party," which is why we clean them during Preventative Maintenance.)

Today's win? The capacitor tested fine... but the previous tech had installed the wrong size. Maybe a temporary fix turned permanent? We swapped it for a properly sized Mars dual run capacitor. Your compressor breathes easier, your energy bill shrinks a bit, and we don't have to come out on an emergency call and give mouth to mouth to your compressor.

We choose Mars because they're built like tanks—often better than OEM—and we refuse to cut corners on parts that matter.
