This summer, NTD is executing another geothermal-to-chiller conversion for a school facility.

As geothermal systems age, elevated loop temperatures, declining performance, and maintenance concerns can create broader system challenges.

When existing infrastructure can remain in service, a chiller conversion may be an effective solution. But success depends on understanding how the transition affects flow, piping, controls, startup, and project phasing.

These projects highlight the value of strong preconstruction planning and field ex*****on working together.

NTD is not simply replacing equipment. We are helping owners and project teams transition complex mechanical systems while managing schedule, coordination, and constructability challenges.

When campuses begin renovations and mechanical construction, NTD moves into full operational readiness.

That means manpower planning from our COO, PMs, and superintendents. It also means crane lift planning, hot work planning, PPE, electrolytes, shade canopies, coolers, and field reminders from our safety leadership before the work kicks into high gear.

When crews are ready, field teams stay aware, schedules move more smoothly, and the GCs and owners who hire us can count on a team that understands what is at stake.

This month, NTD is proud to sponsor and will be attending the 3rd Annual Garland 9th Street Gym Showcase on Friday, June 5, at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland.

The event will feature 12 sanctioned USA Boxing matches, including elite boxers and several Dallas Regional Golden Gloves champions, while benefiting the Downtown Garland nonprofit that supports local boxing and karate students.

For us, showing up to events like this means staying connected to the people, organizations, and communities that make North Texas stronger.

Saddle up. The next generation of skilled trades just entered the arena.

This past month, members of the NTD Mechanical team attended the ForgeNow Contractor Rodeo, a hands-on career fair connecting students with opportunities in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and facilities maintenance. COO Billy Davis, Plumbing Superintendent Ruben Martinez, Service Director Ben Plunk, and Administrative Executive Edna Ramos spent time meeting individuals who are stepping into the trades and exploring where their skills can take them.

Events like this matter. They connect training to real opportunity and help open doors for those ready to get started in the trades.

When someone brings decades of experience to the table, you pay attention.

That is why we are excited to welcome Steve Hopkins to NTD Mechanical as part of our Sales & Estimating team.

Steve brings extensive experience in mechanical and plumbing estimating, pre-construction services, and construction management. His background includes senior estimating leadership roles and a strong track record in developing cost estimates, proposals, and systems that support long-term growth.

He also brings deep knowledge of estimating software, team leadership, and building strong client relationships, making him a valuable addition to the NTD team.
