Your AC isn't cooling right? It could be more than just low refrigerant. 🔧

This system had a faulty thermal expansion valve (TXV) — the part responsible for metering refrigerant flow into the coil. When it fails, your whole system struggles to keep up, no matter how much you crank the thermostat.

Here's what proper repair actually looks like:

✅ Faulty TXV removed and new unit installed

✅ Filter dryer replaced

✅ Pressure tested at 396 PSI with soap bubble leak detection

✅ System recharged and verified

End result: stable pressures and a clean 15° superheat reading — meaning the system is metering refrigerant exactly the way it should.

Skipping these steps is how "quick fixes" turn into repeat service calls. We don't cut corners on diagnostics or testing — because your comfort (and your wallet) depend on it getting done right the first time.

Noticing your AC isn't keeping up lately? Don't wait for it to fail completely. Visit CallMilestone.com to schedule with us.

🚨 Your AC filter could be costing you comfort and money.

One of the simplest ways to keep your HVAC system running efficiently is changing your air filter regularly. While many homeowners wait up to six months, replacing your filter every 4 months is a safer approach to help maintain proper airflow and system performance.

A dirty filter can restrict airflow, force your system to work harder, and potentially lead to costly repairs down the road. The difference between a clean filter and a neglected one can be dramatic—and your HVAC system feels that impact every day.

✅ Better airflow

✅ Improved efficiency

✅ Reduced strain on your system

✅ Cleaner indoor air

Don't wait until there's a problem. A quick filter change today can help prevent bigger issues tomorrow.

When your AC is blowing hot air upstairs, the problem is usually outside.
This customer called in with no cooling, and right away the outdoor unit told the story. We started at the capacitor, the part rated for 70 and 10 that gives the compressor and fan the jolt they need to start. Pulled the fan side first and got nothing. Dead. Checked the compressor side and it read 2.2 when it should have been a full 70. That part was done.

Here is the thing most homeowners do not realize. Without a working capacitor, your outdoor compressor and fan will never kick on, which means your home will never cool no matter how low you set the thermostat. It is a small part with a big job.

We swapped it out, cleaned out all the built up dust and debris choking the unit, and buttoned everything back up. Let it run, let it dry off, and confirmed everything else was operating the way it should.
Hot air upstairs and a quiet outdoor unit usually mean a quick fix when you catch it early. If your AC is struggling in this Texas heat, give us a call before a small part turns into a big problem.

No overheating. No tripped breakers. Still a hazard sitting in the panel. ⚡

Not every breaker that fits in a panel is actually safe to use there. We recently found GE breakers installed in a panel that requires Challenger breakers — a mismatch that's not UL-listed for that setup and can lead to serious damage down the line, even if everything looks fine right now.

Here's what we did:
✅ Identified the incompatible, non-UL-listed breakers
✅ Replaced them with the correct, approved Challenger breakers
✅ Caught the issue early, before any overheating or damage occurred

Catching this kind of problem before it becomes a bigger one means avoiding both the safety risk and the much higher repair cost later.

No flickering lights. No tripped breakers. Still a code violation waiting to cause a problem. ⚡

Electrical codes aren't written for the failures you can see — they're written for the ones that build slowly, out of sight, until they don't.

On a recent job, we found exposed THHN wire running outside conduit, rubbing against the panel edge over time. No protection, no signs of trouble yet — but a hazard developing quietly behind the scenes.

Here's what we did:
✅ Identified the unprotected wiring outside its required conduit
✅ Converted it to properly rated in-wall wiring
✅ Added protection at every transition point to bring it up to code

Just because something hasn't failed yet doesn't mean it's safe. If it's been a while since your panel or wiring was inspected, now's the time.

⚠️ If you have a subpanel in your home, this is worth reading.

One of the most common — and most dangerous — electrical mistakes we find is bonded neutrals and grounds inside a subpanel.

In a main panel? That connection is required.
In a subpanel? It's a code violation that creates real shock and fire hazards.

Here's why it matters: subpanels require completely separate terminal bars for neutrals and grounds. When they're mixed together, fault current has nowhere safe to go — putting your home and your family at risk.

Add in a loose ground wire and you've got a system that looks fine from the outside but is one fault away from a serious event.

Our licensed electricians catch these violations every day — and fix them before they become emergencies.

Don't wait for a warning sign that comes too late.

Ever touched your electrical panel and noticed it felt warm? 🤔

Before you panic — here's what our licensed electricians want you to know.

Breakers naturally produce heat. It's a normal byproduct of electricity flowing through them. A 10-degree rise on a standard breaker? Completely expected. Even advanced breakers with built-in technology run warmer — and that's still safe as long as temperatures stay within 30 degrees of the ambient room temperature.

The key is knowing the difference between normal warmth and a real warning sign.

Peace of mind starts with a proper inspection.
