1. Give Your Condenser 2 to 3 Feet of "Breathing Room"

Your condenser needs to pull in cool outside air and exhaust hot air away. If it’s crowded by overgrown bushes, tall grass, weeds, or stored yard items, heat gets trapped right around the unit.

The Fix: Trim back foliage, shrubs, and trees to maintain at least a 2- to 3-foot clear perimeter all the way around the unit, and clear away any fallen leaves or debris from the top grate.

2. Gently Wash Away Dirt and Pollen Coils
