Please note: the only removals we provide after September 1st are emergency relocations, such as downed trees or instances where the bee's home is completely destroyed. If they have been living in your home, barn or garage all summer and we try to relocate them now, their chances of surviving winter are less than 10%. They simply do not have enough time to rebuild before winter and right now is when their winter babies are starting to emerge. Relocations in September and October adversely affect their winter populations and the colony will need a ton of resources like donated frames of babies and honey from other hives, and even then, their chances are not great. To complicate things, the removals are extremely messy and difficult as we often have to cut through 60-100lbs of honey to reach the brood nest and queen. We recommend letting them be until spring, so that they can consume all the honey they have stored, and then we're happy to help. Please do not spray and kill them this late in the year as the comb will quickly break down with them not around to maintain it and you'll end up with honey running down your walls or dripping from your ceiling. Then the ants and yellow jackets arrive and it's a real mess. If in spring they are still alive, we're happy to come and assess your situation and help at that time. Thank you so much and let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
