5 Aslan Plumbing Tips for the Host's of Holiday Dinner....
1.) Keep the peels out of your garbage disposal!
(The 5lbs of potato peels from Aunt Jan's famous mashed potatoes are not meant to be sent down your kitchen sink and the garbage disposal.... we have garbage CANS for that people!
2.) If your drains are running slow in the days prior to your event call now!
(Do yourself a favor call a head and schedule some preventative maintenance, don't wait until the day of to call in a panic because every time you flush a toilet you get a surprise in the kitchen sink, MURPHY's LAW says, "it can and will backup at the worst possible time". Not only will you save yourself the headache of holiday pandemonium when no one can flush a toilet or wash their hands, but you'll also save yourself money. An emergency call can be significantly more than a scheduled maintenance call for obvious inconvenience reasons.
3.) Keep the plate scrapings out of the garbage disposal!
(Your garbage disposal is not the place for your guests to scrape their plates! Just because Uncle Pete always clears HIS plate into HIS garbage disposal at HIS house, doesn't mean you should let him or your guests scrape their plates into YOUR garbage disposal at YOUR house. This extra heavy abuse of your kitchen sink and disposal can be catastrophically bad for a smooth running holiday feast... we have GARBAGE CANS for that people!!
4.) Invest in a toilet auger and one ply toilet paper before the festivities begin!
(After dinner when everyone else gets comfortable and Uncle Randy lays down for his annual post feast nap, is when your toilets are working their hardest. Leave it to Uncle Steve or Cousin Derek to forget the double flush rule. Before you know it you've got one clogged toilet after another, and 20 unhappy guests. A toilet auger can save the day in a pinch and ease any fears you might have of a plunger failure when you need it the most. You can find one at your local ACE hardware Standish-Jones Building Supply. One ply toilet paper, I don't think we need to explain that one... just trust us!!
5.) Keep the old Holiday leftovers out of your garbage disposal!
(After the dust has settled and your house is finally put back, you've eaten all the leftovers you can stomach. Don't throw Aunt Rose's wild mushroom rice or Aunt Val's squash soup down the disposal... WE HAVE GARBAGE CANS FOR THAT PEOPLE!!!
