Farmer Sam Has over a decade of experience in organic regenerative agriculture. In 2013 he began working at a small organic apple and cherry orchard in Bangor, Mi. Planting, pruning, and surely snacking on the sweet ripe fruits of his labor. In 2015 Sam made his move to Leelanau county to begin a job at 9 Bean Rows. Sam worked passionately on this project for over ten years, through much growth and transition. He so lovingly enjoyed growing and storing fresh and nutritious vegetables with his community.
Jenna first stepped into farming in 2022 to help tend to the tea plants and gardens at Light of Day Organics. With a season in the sun complete, she found herself fallen deeply in love with growing and nurturing plants and the soil. In 2023 she joined Sam in the fields at 9 Bean Rows for an intense education in high yield, no-till vegetable production and farmer’s markets. Jenna’s passions for nutrition, healthy living, and the unique and individual needs of every living thing drive all parts of her work in the world, as well as her work in herself.
In this next chapter we are looking to independently share our skills directly with our community through fruit and vegetable production, garden starting and maintenance, seasonal cleanups, and softscaping. We are ready to tailor our work to the needs of each client, from simple beautification projects to helping create sustainable home food systems.
