Badger Materials Recycling was formed in 2013 for the purpose of recycling and beneficially reusing residential asphalt shingles so that they can be used by local hot mix asphalt plant operators. On average Badger Materials Recycling recycles approximately 35,000 tons of residential asphalt shingles, which conserves 35,000 barrels of oil per year. Today local roads, highways, driveways and parking
lots are built using a percentage of recycled asphalt shingles. One of the materials that is received when recycling residential shingles is wood, such as pallets and dimensional lumber. Beginning in fall of 2016 Badger Materials Recycling received its construction materials processing permit from the DNR to recycle construction materials at its Delafield plant.
