Flint Creek: Keeping the Lights On Since 1978 ⚡For nearly five decades, the Flint Creek plant team have helped SWEPCO deliver reliable energy to our customers. That legacy is powered by dedicated employees like Ivaunna, with 40 years of service, and Mario, who has spent 43 years at the plant — just two examples of the experience and commitment behind our operations. We’re proud of the people, the plant, and the role Flint Creek continues to play in supporting America’s energy infrastructure.

Meet Liberty, the Sentinel of Flint Creek, a six-foot carved bald eagle now welcoming visitors to the Eagle Watch Nature Trail at SWEPCo Lake. Unveiled alongside our Earth Day celebration, Liberty reflects the same spirit seen in our community partners, students, and volunteers who came together to plant, build, and care for this special place.

From sunflower seeds to birdhouses and pollinator gardens, this year’s Earth Day showed what’s possible when we work together.

Stop by and see it up close.
